She came out of the valley of Baca where the sounds, stench and sight of death saturated every orifice.
The climb out was exhausting
Painful, dangerous.
But if it meant crawling out until her hands and knees bled, she was going to get out
To where the was light
Love
Hope
Joy
Peace
Rest
She knew like Lot she couldn't even look back
Like Abraham, she couldn't ever go back to even bury her father
She knew she has to part ways even with the last of her family to meet her new family because God requested that of her
She waved her flag singing Jehovah Nissi is her banner but in her hearts she knew many of His names were a true reflection of who He really is . Not just plastered on titles.
He exchanged her old torn dirty garments for new spotless robes of righteousness not by her works but by His grace
He fed her bread and water and wine , refreshed her soul for a little while and then placed in her hand, a new assignment.
He didn't have to ask it, it was already in her soul stirring. She'd had earlier that day already declared it was the first day of the rest of her life.. Day 1
But His eyes prodded further...
Then the song played on the little radio . The clock read 2:22 am
She sung the words loud and strong to Him as a covenant; whatever the cost
Goodbye yesterday
Goodbe pain
Goodbe to the struggles in that troubled land
Am not going back
Am not going back this time around

No sorrow
Just pity for those who revelled in the grime and slough they now saw as fashionable.
Unrepentant for breaking God's heart again and again. She didn't feel superior but knew there was a way out, but it was a personal choice.
Like Paul, she would press on
Cut the cords that bound, that strangled ,that choked.
Burnt the yokes that tethered her to damnation eternally
He is God and to be served in reverend awe.
There was a new spring in her step
It was the first day of her life.
Matthew 10:34-36
English Standard Version
Not Peace, but a Sword
34 “Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35 For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. 36 And a person's enemies will be those of his own household.
