More Precious Than Gold

At the beginning of the year, there are many Bible reading plans and Fasting programmes worldwide. Even those who've not dedicated their lives to God can plug into this routine and yield the same results as those are born again if we aren't careful. Though that may not be the intention, it may be so . The Bible transforms us inside out. Our mindset and thinking patterns are changed when revelation shines through the pages of this Holy Book. Why would we remain unchanged after a Bible Reading Plan, Because much as it is a great discipline, God's love for us does not want it to be done out of monotonous duty but rather a hunger and a thirst to know Him; to know His heart and His mind. We may never quite perceive the infinite mind and heart of the Creator of the Universe because His ways are higher than our ways His thoughts higher than ours. We may never grasp the depth of His love because it is deeper, higher , wider than we could ever measure The devotion to studying the Word should be propelled by the desire to align to His will The why is to draw closer to Him, to seek Him with every fibre of our being in every aspect in our being that we move, and have our being in Him That they can't tell us apart from God. That our lives are a reflection of Him seamlessly. That our Words are not just religious jargon but His Words become our language, His culture , ours. We speak and act in love, self discipline, authority, grace, patience , We may read the Bible cover to cover year in year out , maybe even twice a year but do we know the Author? Do we understand His purpose for the Bible? For the Word of God? John 3:16 AMPC [16] For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life. Matthew 23:4-5 AMPC [4] They tie up heavy loads, hard to bear, and place them on men's shoulders, but they themselves will not lift a finger to help bear them. [5] They do all their works to be seen of men; for they make wide their phylacteries (small cases enclosing certain Scripture passages, worn during prayer on the left arm and forehead) and make long their fringes [worn by all male Israelites, according to the command].
