Burdened

We all are burdened A yoke is placed on two oxen to carry a burden or carry out a task. Together the burden is made more bearable and the task easier. Animals were also yoked together as a teaching device. A seasoned animal would be connected with an untrained one. If the untrained one lagged behind, the seasoned animal would keep up the proper pace, and the trainee had no choice but to keep up. If the trainee decided to go to the left or right, the seasoned animal controlled that as well. Bring your burdens to the Lord. Yoke yourself to Him. Let Him guide and lead you. Together the Lord is bearable, the task easier. He is not a cruel taskmaster, but gentle and humble and loving Matthew 11:28-30 NIV [28] “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. [29] Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. [30] For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” https://bible.com/bible/111/mat.11.28-30.NIV Thought Ever considered how similar the shape of a yoke and the cross are? Take up His cross. It will make your burden light What does that look like? To take up my cross is to deny myself, crucify my self-will and self-sufficiency. To put to death MY plans and desires for my life. To be willing to face shame, rejection, betrayal, and persecution, and even to lose everything in order to obey God. Only when the less seasoned oxen relentess his will to the more seasoned ox, will the task be done. only then does the burden get lighter. Time to take up His yoke? Time to take up His cross?
