Thirsty Earth

Pounding rain on the iron sheets for the past twelve hours.
The earth thirstily drinks in every drop
It has been dry and parched
The seasons have changed
Not forever would it be so hot and dry

Like a refreshing, a rebirth,
What was dead will spring back to life
New life comes bursting forth

The air crisp
The leaves cleaned off
Our hearts expectant

Welcome long rains
May we saturate our souls with your refreshing Lord
Our dry and thirsty souls Long for your rain

Wash away the cake of callousness forming around our hearts,
Let the seeds of life you planted in our souls burst forth
Water us heavily
Consistently

Please let us be heavy laden with your fruit
For us, for others
For the glory of your kingdom

Heal our land Lord with the refreshing rain
Forgiving rain
The blood shed
The tears shed
Wash them away Lord
Cleanse our land our homes,
Our nation

Give us please a fresh start
Walk with us in this season anew
Give us new hope
Expectancy
New eyes to see what you are doing
Joy as we walk through this season
