Unlocking Doors. Leaving them Open

She was a beautiful smart woman. I was watching her from a distance yesterday. Her body language, her tone, her workmates around her. Unclear words but almost tangible tension, static, a dark calm filled the air, the room. She probably wasn't aware of her effect. Probably wasn't aware how beautiful a day it was. The first of sunshine in many weeks of continuous rain. Today there were completely clear skies and a perfect view of the mountain from where she was sitting. Probably she wasn't aware of the richness her workmates might provide in their friendship. Probably wasn't aware how blessed she was to have her job, her health.
Sadly lack of grace for oneself and lack of grace for others are found in pairs. One always in the company of the other.
One described it this morning as locking one's heart from the inside. Little anyone can do there but oneself. Embracing God's grace means the ability to forgive because God forgives. Embracing God's grace means love for oneself, for others. Because God loves us.
Unlock the door from the inside, open the door and let the aroma and light of grace fill your day, your life. Let it replace the darkness, the stink of unforgiveness. Leave the door open.
