.And Adam took the apple

Free will. Choice. Cajoled or not, he made the decision to stretch out his hand and take the apple and put it to his mouth. He decided to open his mouth. He decided to bite it.
I got up and went there...it didn't come to me. She made the decision to say so and so she said it.
Its not as simple some may say. We are cut out imperfect. We are weak indeed. But could it be that we are given the tools to try get better? To be stronger? Self control, wisdom and understanding are ours?
To keep one's eyes on the prize, to remain focussed on the vision despite tripping and falling. For only a moment do we fall and lose sight of the prize; maybe because we looked elsewhere even for a moment. But we dust ourselves off and refocus. Not once or twice, but it will happen in this lifetime for sure.
It might mean doing it differently, but indeed it should be a better method to get the desired results.
This note comes on Princess's 10th birthday and with the realisation I am obliged to help her keep her eyes on the prize. Obliged to guide her see the skills she needs to make this race. To guide her and show her the tools available in her hands to make it thru. I am far from perfect but I am trying to get there. To know we have choice, provides for some relief. That this life is not so ugly, so empty, so meaningless. That we can always take the higher road though its definitely not easier. To get better.
Its no easy journey and to mock another for poor choices made is folly on oneself. Maybe thats why friends and family were created to encourage (give courage) to the ones less strong and struggling.
Lets tap into our real source, pick up the correct tools to get this job done, keeping our eyes on the prize and it will be well.
