Kitty's stripes are further apart. I didn't even know they could stretch that way. Princess says there's a possibility for him to get to Garfield's size. Its not impossible though. The bottle brush tree in the compound has millions of birds chirping on its branches every morning. Kitty is up and about and at the tree's foot by 6.30am. awaiting breakfast. A mouse or two later complete's breakfast. He'll saunter in for a bowl of milk about 9am and then slip into a deep sleep at the door in the sun.
I often panic he'll turn out to be a spoilt cat but he's learnt a lesson I must learn. He knows he's safe, he's loved by his care givers and its ok to enjoy it. Am no better as I write this still lying down after a siesta after a nutritious lunch. I look forward to the evening walk a little later, with fresh air under the thick blanket of the velvet sky with its myriad of stars. An easy evening laughing, sometimes crying, often praying. Tv reception is lousy. I love this option. Deep uninterrupted sleep thru the night and before my feet touch the floor and without a thought, my lips utter 'its another day in paradise. Thank you Lord'.
Its so easy to worship God. So easy to rest in His presence. So easy to confirm His word is true.
Am not surrounded by the trinkets and baubles that would weigh me down in cleaning and caring for.
Rather in the scarcity do I find richness as royalty, joy and peace as Christ promised. Something tells me I wasn't wrong thinking that there's more to life than the things we have been praying for so hard for at the begining of every year for years. I have all I need; you have all you need. He has His eye on you and won't only see you thru, He'll let you thrive in His care, in His loving hands. Be patient, trust Him.
This new year, May your fur glisten in the sun as Kitty's does. May you have many bottle brush trees full of birds to eat of,fields to run in as he does and the assurance there's a hand that loves and cares for you. In Him there's rest and all you need. You are loved.
