Does a city have a soul?

Could it be possible for a city to possess a soul?
I have often wondered this for the reason my soul is at peace in this town. i connect with it
Nairobi, i could hear the cries, the screams, feel the pain. it was overwhelming, it was huge.
I was not at peace.
Is it possible for a city to possess soul I wonder?
