It means three agonising flights upstairs
But this is where the verandah is
It’s secluded to both the outside world
And the inside world
It has a three seater sofa and a plant
Some see it as a nice hide away
Some a sanctuary, a haven of sorts
From it you can see the town centre
You can see the ridges, the lake
The sunset
Or the going ons of the property next door
I can chose to see what I want to from this vantage point and focus on it
I can choose for each of these views to affect me or not
I can choose what I want to see
Or I can put a curtain on it all
From where you are, do you see the neighbours next door or do you see the world that sings a song just for you?
